Pete began chasing bass on childhood trips to Minnesota and Lake of the Ozarks.  While he still gets up to Minnesota every once and a while, he heads south of his Kansas home to do most of his fishing on reservoirs like Truman, Lake of the Ozarks, Grand Lake, Stockton, and Table Rock.  Pete has lived in the Kansas City area his entire life and began tournament fishing in 2008.  He fishes multiple tournament circuits throughout the Midwest, has qualified for multiple AiA Championships, and has finished in the top 10 in BFL Co-Angler points the last two years in the Ozark Division.  For more information on Pete, please visit his website at www.PeteMathews.com

“I always have a Bass Team 1/4oz Stand-Up Football Shaky Head tied on…year round, all weather, fishing shallow or fishing deep.  The over sized straight shank-hook is a perfect fit for creature baits and the larger finesse worms we throw in the Ozark Mountain lakes, and it’s thick enough to hold up in flippin’ situations.  On 15lb fluorocarbon and a stout rod, it’s also a killer set-up for fishing under and around docks.  In the 2012 BFL Super Tournament on Lake of the Ozarks, I skipped a 1/4oz BTT Shaky Head in Watermelon Red under docks to catch 18-07 on day one, and took home the big trophy after almost leading it wire to wire.  I've made a name for myself out of the back of the boat and embarrassed a couple boaters with that bait, and it’s definitely helped me put plenty of checks in the bank!”
